Through his work with the Filipino-Canadian community and immigrant support organizations, Abel has contributed significantly to building bridges between cultures. His involvement in Filipino Champions Talk (FCT) and The Filipino Champions of Canada (TFCC) highlights his dedication to celebrating Filipino achievements and fostering growth opportunities for immigrant communities.
Abel is driven by a deep passion to help all Canadians, recognizing the diverse challenges and hurdles faced by immigrants from all walks of life. Growing up in Canada, he experienced firsthand the generosity of Canadians from all walks of life, which shaped who he is today and helped him embrace his identity as a Canadian. This commitment led him to found the RISEC Community Foundation, which provides settlement services, educational programs, and career development opportunities to help immigrant families and youth from various countries integrate into Canadian society.
Personal Life and Inspiration
Abel, born in Metro Manila, Philippines, moved to Calgary, Alberta at the age of 12. He is deeply inspired by his wife, Annabelle, and their three children—Jacob Andre, Arwenn Antonette, and Liam Rafael. Abel’s personal and professional life is rooted in making a positive difference in the lives of others, always guided by his core values of resilience, innovation, and service.
With a passion for leadership, education, and community service, Abel Pagaling continues to inspire and empower others, leaving a lasting impact on the communities and organizations he serves.
